Lisa Vanderpump may not know when Vanderpump Rules will be renewed for a ninth season, but she seems pretty certain that she and her castmates will be returning to Bravo at some point.
During a recent episode of her podcast, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member teased the additions of potential new cast members before revealing that James Kennedy used ex-girlfriend Kristen Doute to get on the show. She also gushed over James’ current girlfriend, Raquel Leviss.
“We don’t know when it’s going to be picked up because we haven’t opened the restaurants yet and everybody’s in masks. But we always have new people working at the restaurant,” Lisa explained on an October episode of All Things Vanderpump. “We always try and add people.”
While Lisa would love to see different people join the Pump Rules cast, not everyone is open to such a thing.
“It’s also a lot about who wants to be on a reality show,” she noted.
Although Lisa hasn’t been in touch with all of her castmates as they await word on season nine, she has remained in close contact with James, who recently celebrated one year of sobriety after displaying a number of questionable life choices during past seasons.
After first noting that “James Kennedy shagged Kristen so he could be on the show,” Lisa said James is “doing so well.”
“I keep up with him and he’s doing very well. James, I love you,” she told him.
As for James’ girlfriend, Lisa said Raquel is the “best thing that ever happened” to James and added that she’s enjoyed seeing her come into her own in recent years.
“She’s a lot more confident. She’s really good. When she has a point, she won’t back down. I adore her,” Lisa gushed.
