Kandi Burruss clapped back at her estranged husband Todd Tucker after he “sensationalized our sex life” to stretch his “five minutes of fame.” Meanwhile, the Real Housewives of Atlanta husband clarified his recent comments about threesomes.
In a recent trailer for his new documentary, Til Divorce Do Us Part, Todd was asked if he and Kandi really had threesomes. Todd confirmed that it was true, and he shared that they had threesomes “most of our marriage.”
Speaking with PEOPLE, Kandi reacted to Todd’s comments.
“A man who has already hurt me to my core is furthering the damage by choosing to sensationalize our sex life to stretch his five minutes of fame,” said Kandi. “What consensually happens between a husband and wife in the privacy of their marriage is exactly that—private. His current behavior has only confirmed that I did the right thing by getting divorced. I Do, I Did, I’m Done!”
On The Big Tigger, Todd addressed his recent comment about threesomes.
“Did I put out any new information?” he asked. “She’s been saying that for years! It’s just when a guy says it. I didn’t even say it. [Someone] asked me a question.”
But the interviewer added that fans didn’t know they had threesomes throughout ‘the whole marriage.’
“I think people might take that out of context,” he said. “Is the whole marriage every day, every week, once a year? If we do it once a year, 12 times, that’s throughout [our marriage].”
But Todd joked that people can “have fun” creating their own narratives about it.
Last year, Kandi revealed her divorce from Todd.
“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect,” she said at the time in a statement to PEOPLE. “I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. … I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”
