Real Housewives of Atlanta star Marlo Hampton is revealing that on July 1 she and her family were the victims of an attempted home invasion; one of 15 invasions that have occurred in the Atlanta Metro Area over the past few weeks.
In an interview with Atlanta’s Channel 2 WSBTV, it was revealed that Marlo and her nephews were at their Sandy Springs home during the attempted robbery. Then, Marlo was alerted by her home security video, and she watched as the intruders kicked down her door.
“I heard the boom, when I heard my nephew scream, and I knew that scream was a scream of fear,” Marlo said, recalling the terrifying incident. “My heart dropped.”
Police have since informed Marlo that her case is tied in connection to a string of other incidents. Marlo said she and her family are “survivors” after the family fled to a panic room and called 911. They were told that the screams of her and her nephew likely scared off the invaders. Thankfully, police arrived on the scene shortly thereafter and no one was hurt.
Fortunately, this past Sunday, July 17, four men were apprehended in connection to the events after they also attempted to burglarize the townhome of the mother of one of American rapper Future’s children.
Thank goodness for the safety of all parties involved.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta currently airs Sunday nights at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
