VIDEO: Katie Maloney Clarifies Comment About Scheana’s Wedding on Vanderpump Rules, Shares What Didn’t Air, and Apologizes for Commentary

Katie Maloney is taking the high road and apologizing to Scheana Shay after she seemingly mocked her wedding to now-husband Brock Davies on Vanderpump Rules’ April 12 episode.

The episode in question saw Katie watching the ceremony go down from the balcony of her hotel room and making jabs and quips about the wedding. However, in hindsight, Katie is explaining her comments and blaming her negative attitude on being in a dark place due to her issues with former husband Tom Schwartz.

“I just want to say the things that you didn’t hear me say, because I thought it was a beautiful ceremony. I loved the bridesmaids’ colored dresses [and] I loved Scheana’s dress,” Katie explained in a video she posted to Instagram on Thursday, April 13, after the episode in question aired. “And when I said I could cry, it was because the song choice that she walked out to was ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ and I thought that was just perfect for the setting and everything. When I got back inside and said, ‘Weddings are beautiful, but not this one,’ I was going through a lot.”

Katie also posted a statement to her Stories and explained that she wasn’t “trying to pick things apart” while watching Scheana’s wedding, but rather, she was just making observations.

“The thing with weddings is that they are personal and people always wanna weigh in and have comments and say, ‘That’s not what I would do,’ or they want to pick things apart. I wasn’t necessarily trying to pick things apart; I was just being observant. And I’m not making excuses. I didn’t mean it as an insult, and I apologize for that,” she said.

At the time of filming, Scheana and Katie were not in a good place. However, the pair have seemingly reunited and attempted to put the past behind them as they have been hanging out and supporting Ariana Madix amid her breakup with Tom Sandoval.

“They did a DJ gig together for ‘Emo Nite,’” mutual friend and co-star Lala Kent shared while appearing on Watch What Happens Live on April 12. “I feel like slowly but surely my plan is working to get them back together.”
