Dorit Kemsley and her husband PK suffered severe water damage in their California mansion after they “accidentally left the water running,” according to a past suit.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars have been involved in several lawsuits throughout the years, sometimes as defendants, other times as plaintiffs. Recently, a private nurse reportedly sued the couple after claiming she wasn’t sufficiently compensated.
Per court docs via Radar Online, severe damage was done to the Kemsleys’ home after they left the water running from a bathroom.
The documents claim the couple sued multiple defendants, including Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s London, for negligence, fraud, and breach of contract.
PK and Dorit said they own the Encino, California, home, and the suit concerns an insurance claim they brought for water damage.
In June 2020, according to the lawsuit, Dorit and PK “accidentally left the water running in their minor daughter’s bathroom on the second floor of the property, which caused water to flow through the bathroom, the adjacent bedroom closet, and down to the office on the first floor, along with the entry of the property.”
The couple claimed they made premium payments each month for the policy, and they submitted a claim via their attorney following the bathroom incident.
Dorit and PK alleged the company had third parties handle the claim and assess any damages. The couple said they weren’t allowed to talk to a rep from Lloyd’s.
The stars claimed they used ServiceMaster Recover, a water mitigation company, to dry out their house.
Their suit alleged that the third parties were incompetent and negligent in performing what they were hired to do, including an evaluation of the estimated damages.
The couple is accusing Lloyd’s of not reimbursing them for damage, and they claimed this breach of contract forced them to pay unnecessary expenses.
Their suit was seeking unspecified damages, but the couple dismissed it before the company could respond.
