RHOC: Judge Denies Shannon Beador’s Request to Have John Janssen’s Fraud Allegation Thrown Out Amid $75K Facelift Lawsuit

The Real Housewives of Orange County star Shannon Beador hasn’t had the best few years. Much of this has to do with her public DUI, and her ex, John Janssen, has also been a part of the drama. He is currently suing her over an unpaid loan, and she recently suffered a major loss in the court battle.

Fans will recall that John sued Shannon for not paying back the $75,000 he loaned her in 2022. According to John, the loan was for a facelift procedure. Shannon hasn’t denied receiving the money, but she did not want to go to court as she knew the legal fees would add up.

The two dated for four years before breaking up in 2022. However, she has since said they had resumed dating last year and that she was coming from his home on the night of her DUI.

Recently, In Touch Weekly obtained court documents from the case. In them, Shannon requested that the judge remove fraud from the allegations. This is because Shannon and her legal team didn’t feel he provided enough evidence to support the fraud claims. However, the judge denied the motion, which means the hearing will proceed as it was filed

According to the lawsuit, Shannon first asked John for $40,000 for the facelift. She then came back and requested another $35,000. He is suing her for fraud and breach of contract for not paying him back. He is seeking repayment, punitive damages, and attorney fees.

In addition to wanting fraud removed from the case, Shannon asked the judge to deny John’s request for punitive damages and repayment of attorney fees. This motion to deny damages was tossed out, but the judge sided with Shannon regarding attorney fees. Still, John can refile the request to be reimbursed for attorney fees.

Shannon has argued that the money was a gift and not a loan. She previously said to the outlet, “My attorney has been in constant communication with his counsel. I agreed to pay John what he wanted because I knew that attorney’s fees would surpass the amount sought, but more importantly to eliminate the negative emotional components that come with a lawsuit. It is important that I continue to focus on the positive aspects of my life and move forward.”

She continued, “John declined the offer because he refused to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement. I was hoping that if I met his baseless demand, we could at least use this as an opportunity to bring complete closure to this chapter in my life.”

Fans can watch Shannon on RHOC on Thursdays nights on Bravo.
