Marysol Patton shed tears over Adriana de Moura’s body-shaming remarks on Real Housewives of Miami, and she hinted at what started her feud with Stephanie Shojaee.
On the new season, Stephanie and Marysol got into it after Marysol refused to take a trip on her co-star’s private plane, after Stephanie seemingly made a list of demands for her passengers. But Marysol also claimed she didn’t go because she wanted to spend the day with her best friend, Alexia Nepola.
Earlier in the season, Marysol’s nemesis, Adriana, yelled at her on a yacht to “go get plastic surgery on your bony knees, cause they need it! Your wrinkled knees!”
Speaking at Page Six‘s “Virtual Reali-Tea” Awards, Marysol and Alexia addressed the offensive comment. Alexia said she “couldn’t hear” Adriana’s remark at the time because they “were on another boat,” but Alexia was “laughing” because the spectacle was “ridiculous.”
But Marysol claimed she heard Adriana’s comment “loud and clear.”
“I have to say that those things, like affect me a lot, because people used to say those things to my mom,” said Marysol.
“You know and nowadays, nobody should be doing that about anybody, but this is the world we live in,” added Alexia, noting that she misses Marysol’s mom. “We do not support that … And unfortunately you see it on our show, and we’re sorry for that. We have no control over that.”
Marysol then shed tears as the interviewer, Danny Murphy, assured her that body-shaming is “just going low for no reason.”
Speaking with The Reality Rundown at the same event, Marysol was asked if she ever expected to bump heads with Stephanie in the season.
“Not at all. I thought we were going to be [tight],” she answered. “We started off really good. It was a little miscommunication. And I guess I hurt her feelings. I didn’t intend to hurt her feelings. I just wanted to spend the day with my bestie.”
“I don’t think Stephanie thinks she’s better [than us]. I just think [her delivery] comes across strong,” she continued. “Sometimes you can say something [in a certain] tone, and then people [accept it] … And then someone says it … in a different tone, [and it seems] rude.”
