The future of The Real Housewives of New Jersey may be uncertain, but cast member Dolores Catania remains a fixture in the world of podcasts and interviews. Recently, she and Paul Connell revealed that their home had been broken into in what many would call a dramatic fashion.
There have been numerous reports about which ladies may return to RHONJ season 15 and appear alongside a new batch of cast members. Many rumors about the series suggest that Dolores, 54, is set to return, in addition to her highly anticipated role on the upcoming Real Housewives of Rhode Island.
Dolores and Paul, 55, appeared on a recent episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. While on the show, the RHONJ star shared, “Our house got broken into last week.” Naturally, Jeff was surprised by the news, and Dolores continued, “Yes, or two weeks ago. They came in with a blowtorch.”
From there, she explained that they were away at the time of the break-in. According to Dolores, “We were in Rhode Island, and as I told you before, I would be doing some cameos on the new Housewives of Rhode Island, and we were filming, and Paul had his phone off and he was performing for everyone there, and then I see my phone.”
She added, “He was drinking tequila, and my phone was going off, and I saw it was his son. I always answer for the kids, even if I’m in the middle of filming. [He] goes, ‘Is my dad there? The house just got broken into.'”
Paul chimed in and stated that Dolores’ reaction to the news “scared the sh** outta me,” leading her to say, “And I don’t get startled.”
He went on, “I thought something happened to one of my kids or somebody’s child. It was like, ‘No way,’ but it was pretty bad.”
They asked how Paul’s son found out, and Dolores said, “The cops finally called him. So, apparently, they came in with a blowtorch. They broke the window. They heated it so that it wouldn’t set off the alarm, so it shatters without setting off the alarm, and then he has like the most insane alarm system.”
She continued, “It’s like, ‘Intruder, intruder, get out,’ and it was like screaming at them, and they didn’t take one thing ’cause the cops were there how many minutes later?”
“Between the time that they left and the cops got there was 20 seconds,” Paul said. “They were inside the house for about a minute and something. They were eight minutes trying to get in because they used this torch because the glass was tempered, so rather than smash the glass and set off the alarm, they heat it. It’s a new thing that they’re doing.”
Jeff then asked about the alarm going off, and Paul responded, “No, because you have a glass break sensor that only goes off when the pitch is high. When you heat it, it shatters without cracking, and then you just push it through with your hand and walk in.”
Apparently, the motion detector did go off, but Paul stated that it was “the first minute and a half.” Dolores then stated, “We got the video of the cops walking through with their guns.”
From there, she issued a warning to others. Dolores said, “But I’m gonna tell you, and I want everybody to know this. We all love to post when we’re out and we’re away. Paul posted that day that we were in Rhode Island, and that night we got broken into.”
Paul interjected, “It’s a lesson learned, and then we go to Brazil and she does the exact same thing.”
Toward the end, Jeff mentioned that Dolores’ jewelry and bags could have been taken, but she said, “I don’t keep it around. Let’s put it that way.”
“We don’t keep anything at the house. It’s not worth it because, you know,” Paul added.
