Jessel Taank recalled Bronwyn Newport’s “weird” encounter with Real Housewives of Salt Lake City co-star Meredith Marks at fashion week. The 45-year-old also shared an update on Real Housewives of New York, and she revealed her thoughts on Brynn Whitfield’s exit.
Many months have passed since the rebooted cast filmed the last season of RHONY. Certain reports even suggested it was getting canceled. According to some Bravo fans, the show was better before the legacy cast was fired.
On Page Six Radio, Jessel revealed an awkward interaction between Bronwyn and Meredith.
“I saw [Bronwyn] a lot during Fashion Week,” said Jessel. “She said that there was a lot of tension [on RHOSLC].”
“I’m gonna give you some tea,” she went on. “Meredith Marks was at the same show that we were at, and they ghosted each other. Yeah, it was very weird … We were sitting like right there, and [Meredith] kind of like walked just past [us] … She definitely wasn’t engaging … [Bronwyn] definitely did notice that … she was ignored.”
In an interview with E! News, Jessel gave an update on the upcoming season of RHONY.
“It’s definitely in the works,” she said. “There will be several announcements coming soon … They’ve never done anything like [the RHONY reboot] before … Sometimes they’re going to get it right on the first try. Sometimes they won’t … [It requires] trial and error. [In reality TV] it’s really a balance of personalities. You can never predict how that’s going to unfold.”
“[Next season] I really want to show the true DNA of New York, fashion, a little bit of drama woven in there,” she went on, “but a window into six women’s lives that are doing it all.”
She then addressed Brynn’s exit.
“I wish her the best for the future,” said Jessel. “Reality TV, it really is a very aggressive platform. It’s a window into your personal life, and it’s not easy. I think we’re all just trying to do the best that we can. So, I just hope that she finds her part.”
Jessel shared that the reboot had “really big shoes to fill” after the original cast was fired.
“They really procured a very strong fan base. So, all of a sudden, just erase that from memory, and then like, say, ‘Oh, we’re gonna try something new,'” she said. “I think it was a tough pill to swallow for a lot of people … But I genuinely believe that we are the girls to do it, and that the network is making the right move.”
