Lisa Barlow revealed why she called Bronwyn Newport a “gout-d**k sucker,” and she recalled what Bronwyn allegedly told her off camera a year before their shocking Real Housewives of Salt Lake City fight.
Leading up to the verbal altercation, Bronwyn alleged that Lisa had multiple lawsuits concerning her businesses. Lisa called her a “gout-d**k sucker,” and she claimed this is why Bronwyn has “clothes.” In response, Bronwyn said court records showed that a man who wasn’t Lisa’s husband claimed to have paid her AMEX for years.
Before last season, Bronwyn was introduced to the group through Lisa, who was then her friend. Though they seemed to reconcile at some point in the new season, Heather Gay and other co-stars shared their belief that Lisa leaked dirt on Bronwyn to the media.
In an interview for Parade, Lisa was asked how she came up with the term “gout-d**k sucker.”
“I was with Bronwyn a few years prior … I remember something she had said like the year before,” said Lisa. “She was like, ‘I have sex with a man that has gout.'”
“And [then] we were at a party … with two of my NBA player friends. And in front of them — it was so weird — [Bronwyn] said, ‘Yeah, when the AMEX bill comes with Todd, I just say, ‘I’ll suck your d**k,'” Lisa went on. “I don’t talk like that. I’m not crass. So it just like never left me. And I’m like, why are you bragging to like two single guys about that?”
According to Lisa, this apparently came to mind during her argument with Bronwyn.
“I’m just thinking about how she’s coming at me and saying you need to go to work. I was just at work. I own so many businesses. I work hard. Everyone that knows me knows I work hard,” she said. “So I’m like sitting there thinking … you’re coming at me and telling me to go to work. All you do is like suck gout d**k.”
Lisa laughed, and she claimed this came to her in the moment.
“I’m like, you want to come at me for not working?” said Lisa. “Let’s talk about what your job is.”
