Season 9 of Selling Sunset premiered on Netflix in October, with Emma Hernan returning for her sixth season. Now, the reality star and real estate agent is opening up about some of the inner workings of the show, where the cast stands with Christine Quinn, and much more, in a new interview.

Regarding Selling Sunset, fans were shocked when Chrishell Stause announced her departure on November 7, 2025. The show hasn’t been renewed for a 10th season yet, but most expect it to return.

Emma recently sat down for an interview with It Girl. While on the show, she was asked how much time she spends on her glam while filming. She said, “A lot. But actually, if I’m being honest with you, I would say it’s like two hours before I’m going to film, so it’s not too crazy.”

She went on, “I like to give two hours. Sometimes we’re rushed, and it’ll end up being like an hour/ hour and a half.” The unseen producer then asked how much money she has spent on glam for the show. Emma responded, “That it a lot. I have spent a lot of money on glam. I mean, definitely in the six figures, for sure, a season. Glam and fashion, for get it. Especially if you want to look good, you have to spend a lot.”

Emma then called Selling Sunset “an investment into yourself if you want to look good.” Next, the topic of what cosmetic procedures she’s had done. Emma stated, “I’ve only gotten a little enhancement to my chest, that’s it. I’ve never touched my face. I’ve never done anything to my face.”

Later, she was asked about the most expensive home she’s sold. According to her, it was $25 million. However, she claims she recently got a listing for a $60 million house. They then discuss celebrities, specifically, the biggest one she’s sold a house to.

She responded, saying that she sold Zedd’s house as well as Alesso, leading her to joke about working with a lot of famous DJs. Next, the question about how scripted Selling Sunset is arose. She started, “This is a great one because I feel like most people think that the drama and everything is scripted.”

Emma continued, “But I can assure you it’s not. I’m currently dealing with it right now, and it’s not scripted. Of course, yes, they’re going to tell us which scenes we have. We have to go, we have to sit down, and do all that. So, we kind of know somewhat of our schedule for the week, depending on what we have going on.”

She added, “However, the drama is real, unfortunately for everyone involved.” Later in the interview, Christine is mentioned regarding if any of the cast members are still friends with her. According to Emma, “Well, I wouldn’t know, but I believe Nicole still speaks to her.”

Regarding recent drama from the show, Emma was asked if Chelsea Lazkani intentionally sent followers to Mary Bonnet while they were filming. She stated that Chelsea did not know they were filming. She also revealed how she felt about the way Chelsea was treated during season 9 of Selling Sunset.

Emma said, “I love Chelsea. Chelsea is an amazing person inside and out, and from the moment that she came into the office, her and I just had an amazing bond. So, I will always be protective of her no matter what.” She also called what went down between Mary and Chelsea “sad to see.” Emma also stated that there wasn’t enough attention paid to their issues at the reunion.

Nicole Young was also mentioned during the interview. As fans know, she didn’t appear in the bulk of season 9. Emma said of her last conversation with her, “The last conversation I had with Nicole was when I sat down. You guys got to see that on camera. But Nicole today actually did make a public apology to me for what she did in season 8, which is a little late to the game.”

Toward the end, the topic of Bre Tiesi came up. When asked where they stand today, Emma said, “Bre and I have kind of squashed our beef. We’re in a good place with it all. I think obviously she was hurt when I took Chelsea’s side, but Bre and I have squashed our beef.”

She was also asked who she’s the closest to on the cast. Emma revealed, “I will say Alanna, and I have been getting a lot closer. I invited her to a woman’s dinner that I hosted. We’ve been hiking together, and it’s just kind of nice to be around someone that’s very calming energy. I’m pretty much close with everyone- I have a good relationship with everyone besides Chrishell.”

From there, she said that Nicole was the most different on and off camera. Emma noted that Nicole carried out the producers’ request to bring drama to the show, calling her “fake.” Questions about season 9 of Selling Sunset potentially being the show’s last then came up. Emma responded that she hasn’t heard, but she knows the show is doing well. She said she’s “pretty sure” there will be a season 10.
