Scheana Shay said Tamra Judge is trying to spread a false rumor that her ex-husband Mike Shay “wants his last name back,” as Scheana shared why she didn’t take her new husband’s last name.
Meanwhile, in an unseen clip from the Real Housewives of Orange County reunion, Katie Ginella addressed Scheana’s alleged involvement with the ‘roofie’ rumor.
In season 19, Kiki Monique claimed that Katie told her off-camera that Gretchen Rossi had accused Tamra of drugging her in a past season. Kiki frequently co-hosts on Scheana’s podcast, and the accusation became a major storyline in the season. Ahead of the reunion, Tamra (who’s feuding with Scheana) hired Mike to DJ an event for her.
“Now Tamra’s trying to spread that Shay wants his last name back, and he doesn’t want me to be Scheana Shay,” said Scheana on her Scheananigans podcast, via @bravo_boo on Instagram. “[That’s] also not true, because I had a conversation with him before [my] book came out.”
“I talked to him about it,” Scheana explained. “I said, ‘Does it bother you that I still use this last name?’ He goes, ‘Not at all.’ He goes, ‘I don’t care.'”
Scheana then addressed why she didn’t take her new husband’s last name.
“I don’t want to go through changing my name again,” she said. “My brand has been Scheana Shay for the last 10 years.”
On Peacock’s extended version of the season 19 reunion, via Bravo TV, Andy asked how Scheana factored into the drama surrounding Katie, Gretchen, and Tamra.
Tamra alluded to “this whole [social media] thread,” but she admitted she hadn’t seen it, as she was “blocked.” Katie, who apparently wasn’t blocked, then stepped in.
“[A] woman has a timeline of all this stuff,” said Katie, discussing a post someone sent her. “It shows pictures of Gretchen and Scheana being friends for many, many years.”
According to Katie, Teddi Mellencamp told her on Two Ts in a Pod about a “rumor” that Scheana was allegedly involved in the situation.
“Who knows if this is true, but I was told that Gretchen and Scheana are very tight,” said Teddi in a clip of the podcast that was played at the reunion. “Scheana [allegedly] told Kiki [what Gretchen purportedly accused Tamra of].”
In the podcast clip, Katie added, “I’ve heard that from multiple people, too. There’s clips of Scheana calling Gretchen with Kiki on their podcast together saying, ‘How do we get you back on the show?'”
Back at the reunion, Andy asked if they were claiming Scheana “somehow plot[ted] to get Gretchen back on the show.”
“This is the rumor I heard,” said Katie. “I just confirmed that I heard this rumor.”
Andy then expressed, “Well, can I just point out that the reason Gretchen is on the show is that she was on [The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip], and we were all like, ‘Wow, it’s great to see Gretchen again. It would be fun if she was back on the show. I wonder if she would do it?’ That’s how it happened. It had nothing to do with Scheana.”
