Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent is teaming up with actress Ambyr Childers for a brand new podcast. Plus, she’s opening up about why she was hesitant to join The Valley in a full-time capacity.
Lala, 35, and Ambyr, 37, are friends today, but that hasn’t always been the case. The two were at odds for quite some time after sharing the same ex, Randall Emmett, 54. While Lala started dating him after he’d separated from Ambyr, to whom he was married, there seems to have been some overlap later on as he reunited with his wife.
Lala and Ambyr announced their upcoming iHeart podcast, An Unlikely Affair, on December 5. They did so by posting the official cover for the podcast, which features the two ladies both wearing red dresses with their hair down.
They captioned the post, “Two women who never imagined being in the same room come together to co-host a podcast…Listen to @anunlikelyaffair starting January 8th!”
Later, they posted a preview clip from the podcast. It began with Lala saying, “Welcome to An Unlikely Affair. It’s fu***** here.” Ambyr then said, “It’s been like four or five years, right?”
From there, they shared that they’ve wanted to “do something” together for quite some time, but there have always been timing issues. Ambyr joked, “I’m sitting on the couch with the ex-mistress,” leading Lala to say, “You were the wife, I was the mistress.”
Both ladies added that this dark time in their lives is in their pasts. Ambyr even said, “You know what, I fu***** love you now… I didn’t love you so much, Lala. But now I do.”
About the podcast, Ambyr said, “I want to keep it real. I want to keep it so honest, and I want women to feel like it’s okay to be messy. Moms, it’s okay to be messy. We’re not supposed to be perfect.”
Per Bravo, Lala also recently opened up about being hesitant to join The Valley full-time. She said, “Actually, I didn’t know if it felt like a natural next step. I was very, very concerned about going back onto reality TV after how I left Vanderpump Rules. I had to do a lot of healing during that time, and taking accountability, so I didn’t know if I wanted to be in this line of work.”
She went on to discuss how her feelings changed as the casting process continued. According to her, “So, when it was actually like, ‘Here’s an actual offer,’ I had to take a moment to say, like, ‘Is this going to be good for me?'”
“And it seemed, just like, I love making reality TV. And these are my friends. So, it’s like, of course, you’re going back,” Lala added.
