Stassi Schroeder, who’s the new host of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion, shaded the ex-host, Nick Viall, and his wife, Natalie Joy, over their comments about Whitney Leavitt’s parenting. Stassi called it “weird” and asked if Nick and Natalie are “okay.”
Recently, Whitney scored the role of Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical Chicago. After the announcement, Natalie (on their Viall Files podcast) said she was “curious” about how Whitney is “managing” motherhood and her career after her recent stint on Dancing with the Stars. Nick commented that her husband, Conner Leavitt, is “very hands-on” concerning their three kids.
On her Stassi podcast, Stassi addressed Nick and Natalie directly.
“You guys have a kid, where’s your kid right now?” asked Stassi, via @tasteof_reality on Instagram. “I’m sorry. Like, there are people out there, parents out there everywhere, going to work every f**king day. What are you talking about?”
“And if it was a dude, no one would ever f**king ask that,” she added. “It’s so weird. It’s like the weirdest take … Are [Natalie and Nick] okay?”
“I wonder if they’re kicking themselves after saying that,” asked Stassi’s friend C-O-Lo French. “I hope they are.”
“I’m sure,” said Stassi. “I don’t want to make it worse for them, but like you guys, that was weird … It just really bothered me because like that is an insecurity of mine that I have, that like I work too much … I’m like, ‘Am I a good enough mom?’ You know what I mean? And like that’s constantly in the back [of my mind].”
Earlier this month, Natalie commented on Whitney’s Broadway announcement.
“I am curious because, obviously, we had Taylor Frankie Paul being The Bachelorette, and she received a lot of criticism for leaving her children and prioritizing her and her career and finding love. I am curious how Whitney is managing both,” said Natalie on their podcast, via Us Weekly. “She just did Dancing With the Stars for three or four months. She has kids on a school level — maybe they are homeschooled. I don’t know. To shift to Chicago in New York, that takes so much of her time. How is she managing being a mom?”
“Obviously, [Nick and I] are very busy and are constantly on the go,” she added. “But we realize that once she is in school, our life has to drastically slow down.”
