Lala Kent recalled when the original cast of Vanderpump Rules was almost brought back for a “final season,” as she revealed how it would have been structured. The alum also hinted that she’s no longer friends with them, and she reacted to the reboot’s premiere.

After season 11, the entire cast of Pump Rules was fired, as the network announced that new stars would take over. The reboot premiered on December 2 to mixed reactions.

On her Untraditionally Lala podcast, Lala addressed the goodbye season that never was.

“There was a conversation about, ‘We’re thinking about bringing you all back for a final season —season 12,’” recalled Lala of the original cast. “‘None of you guys have to film together if you don’t want to.’”

According to Lala, the season would have been a sendoff of six to eight episodes — checking in on the original stars and showing “where they’re at in life.”

“I think that they were feeling it out [at the time] — I know that I said I don’t see any point in doing that,” said Lala, who thinks other castmates felt the same. “It felt very over to me.”

As for the reboot, Lala claimed neither the production team nor the new cast “knew who they wanted” while the next chapter of Pump Rules was taking shape.

On a different episode of her podcast, Lala said the original castmates “used to be my friends.” Later on, she reacted to the premiere of the reboot.

“Honestly, when I watched the first episode, it was definitely freaking weird,” she said. “I [thought], ‘Oh this show is going to be really f**king good’ … [They’re] not putting on for the cameras … Oh my gosh, Vanderpump Rules is alive and well.”

Lala said she believes that Natalie Maguire, who was apparently in a love triangle with her boss, Demyana Selem, and her ex-boyfriend, Paulo, is the Lala of the new cast.

In December 2024, Lala shared her feelings about getting fired.

“I remember so many moments of us all having ups and downs and being like, ‘One day it’s gonna be over. We’re not gonna remember the bad. We’re just gonna be so happy that it all happened, and it’s not gonna last forever,’” she said at the time on Scheananigans. “So that’s the moment like when [our producer] Alex called me, and I knew it was coming. But it was like, ‘Oh, we’re here.’”

“It’s like you never want to go back to high school, right? Like a horrible time,” Lala continued. “But there’s something that sinks in where it’s like I feel this intense bond to my cast. They probably don’t feel the same way.”
