Tom Sandoval claimed Katie Maloney is the “opposite” of someone whose smile “light[s] up the room,” as he shared what he once told her ex-husband, Tom Schwartz. Katie then clapped back, telling Tom to “choke” and saying he has the “characteristics of a murderer.”
On season 11 of Vanderpump Rules, Katie slammed Tom for cheating on her good friend Ariana Madix. The co-stars have fought continually for years, even when she was married to Schwartz, Tom’s best friend.
During a Q&A on stage, Tom was asked to play “F**k, Marry, Kill” over Katie, Lisa Vanderpump, and Lala Kent.
“Did any of you guys watch Discovery ID?” asked Tom, via @commentsbybravo on Instagram. “What’s the thing you commonly hear about a woman that was murdered on Discovery ID? They always have one thing in common. They’re like, ‘She had a smile that would light up the room. She’d walk in and … the room would ignite.’ – Katie’s like the opposite of that.”
“[Katie] does not light up the room at all,” said Tom. “I would show up at Schwartz’s and be like, ‘I’ve been watching a lot of Discovery ID. Your wife … is in no danger of being murdered.’ … So in that note, I would say ‘murder’ Katie, ‘f**k’ Lala, and ‘marry’ Lisa.”
In the comments, Katie shared a meme of herself saying, “Choke. I don’t care.” She then added, “Lol well he has the characteristics of a murderer.”
In July 2024, Katie addressed her dislike for Sandoval.
“[Sandoval] definitely was very manipulative of Tom throughout [our marriage] and the stuff that he said about me, just in front of me, in front of Tom, I want to know what that man said without me around, that is terrifying to me,” said Katie at the time on Not Skinny But Not Fat. “Tom was highly influenced by him, so easily influenced by him that I can imagine, subconsciously, Tom Schwartz’s opinion of me changed over time.”
“I don’t want to blame [our split] fully on that,” she added. “There [were] tons of issues but I don’t think Tom Sandoval has had the most healthy influence on Tom Schwartz in several ways, especially our relationship and marriage being a huge one.”
