In the season finale, Bronwyn said she and Meredith had an off-camera talk. She insinuated that Meredith tried to pump her for information on what was said during a lunch Bronwyn had with other castmates on the cast trip. Meredith then denied it. At one point in the episode, Bronwyn shared that she had kissed a woman in the past.
On Two Ts in a Pod, Meredith revealed more details behind her off-camera convo with Bronwyn.
“[Bronwyn] was very upset. She came down. You know, I guess she had Heather making fun of her that she was a lesbian after she had said she made out with a woman or whatever,” said Meredith, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram. “I wasn’t there for that part when they had that conversation, so I was not in tune with it.”
“She was kind of like really breaking down, very upset, very nervous about reunion and didn’t like that she was being … weaponized, you know, for having kissed a girl — which I agree with,” said Meredith. “That’s wrong. You don’t do that. And I felt horrible. And I said to her, ‘I haven’t heard any of this.’ … If the jokes were made, I didn’t get them because I wasn’t there for the conversation. So I said, ‘I’m glad you told me, you know, you have my support. That’s wrong. We don’t do that.'”
At the time, Meredith thought she and Bronwyn had a “really good conversation.”
“And so the next day, I was like, what?” she continued. “I didn’t pump you for information. If you think me saying that what happened at your lunch is probably the basis, then fine, that’s pumping, I guess. But that was not my intention. And she didn’t tell me what they talked about. But I think the next day was her own guilty conscience, because she did talk about my marriage after very specifically saying, ‘That’s what we don’t do.'”
