Andy Cohen addressed the death of ICU nurse Alex Pretti on Watch What Happens Live, and he accused the government of allowing masked agents to “execute its own citizens.”
According to reports, Pretti used his phone in Minneapolis to film border patrol agents amid protests against the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over the killing of Renée Good. The 37-year-old reportedly stood between an agent and a woman who was pushed to the ground, and Pretti was later shot and killed while surrounded by agents.
“Before we go, I want to address the horrific events unfolding in Minneapolis,” said Andy on Watch What Happens Live. “On Saturday, three weeks after the killing of unarmed Renée Good, 37‑year‑old ICU nurse Alex Pretti was holding his iPhone, exercising his constitutional right to protest when he was murdered in broad daylight by ICE officials.”
“He was a licensed gun owner with a gun that was not drawn, while ICE agents fired off at least 10 shots as he laid there on the ground,” Andy continued. “Now, I’ve seen a lot of gaslighting on the Housewives, and that is all fun and games. But we need to believe what we’re seeing with our own eyes. Our government is allowing anonymous masked agents to execute its own citizens and then lying about it. Also, if these are paid protesters, as we’re being told, show us the receipts, even one receipt.”
Andy said the issue isn’t “left versus right.”
“This isn’t even about immigration reform, which the nation wants,” he stated. “We all have to decide if we want to live in a society in which our government kills citizens and then tells us not to believe what we are seeing with our own eyes. And I know that that is not the America that I believe in or any of us want. Everyone, please stay safe out there. Minneapolis, we love you.”
Andy normally tends to stay away from politics, and several Real Housewives — according to speculation, on both sides of the aisle — have been fired after sharing their political beliefs. But throughout the years, Andy has made clear that he isn’t fond of President Donald Trump.
