Meredith Marks claimed Britani Bateman’s team “reached out” to ask if she could attend Meredith’s Sundance event, despite her recent declaration that she’ll never be in Meredith’s presence again. The star claimed Britani “struggle[s] with the truth” and seeks “attention at my expense.”
On the latest season of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, Britani alleged that Meredith pulled her hair and yelled at her for hours on a flight home from a cast trip. At the reunion, Meredith accused her of supporting a bigot. In response to Meredith’s accusation, Britani declared that she’ll never film with her again.
Speaking to Vulture, Meredith was asked about potentially repairing her relationship with Britani.
“You know, it’s really funny to me because I’ve seen all over social media that she’s saying she would never be in my presence again,” said Meredith. “But the really funny part about all of that is her team reached out with the subject ‘Glad X Meredith Marks,’ and asked for [Britani] to come to my Sundance event.”
“So you know, Britani has a tendency to struggle with the truth — and that’s putting it very gently,” she went on. “She’s very performative, and I think she likes attention; we know that. So I think … she was just looking for some attention at my expense, as she has done repeatedly and probably will continue to do. … I wish her well.”
Last week on The Julia Cunningham Show, Britani addressed Meredith’s reunion accusation.
“There’s nothing worse than accusing someone of hating a whole race of people, a whole group of people, for no reason. That’s what being bigoted is, is to hate someone before you even know them,” said Britani. “And I don’t hate anybody. … I feel like it was the perfect diversion for her.”
“She used this as an excuse to be bullying me at the beginning of the season,” the star continued. “And we hashed it out off camera, and she told me … ‘Look, I may have overreacted, but I feel like I got death threats when I did my bat mitzvah.’ … And [then] we ended [it] so well. I apologized profusely, and we ended this. It was done and buried. And so for her to bring this up as an excuse to bully me on the plane, as like, ‘Well, she deserved it, because…’ That’s what made me lose my mind … It’s not okay. I will never be in her presence again.”
