Vanderpump Rules newbies Shayne Davis and Chris Hahn clapped back at Katie Maloney for suggesting the reboot is “cheap.” Katie then responded, calling them “losers,” as Scheana Shay rushed to her defense.

After last season, the network fired the entire cast and replaced them with younger stars. Last year, Katie said on the Detox Retox podcast that the new cast “feels cheap, and I don’t like cheap.” According to Katie, she quit the show voluntarily before the rest of the cast was fired.

In an interview with E!, Shayne and Chris were asked to react to Katie’s shade.

“Who’s Katie Maloney?” asked Shayne, via @vanderpumprulesparty on Instagram.

“I don’t know who you are, Katie,” said Chris.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know who that is,” Shayne added.

Chris continued, “The thing is, the reality of it is we’re nothing like the old cast. And I can’t see how we would even compare to them at all. I think that’s what makes us special.”

In the comments, Katie clapped back, calling them “losers.”

In a different comment, Scheana came to her defense: “Give me a break!! ‘Idk who katie is’. These BOYS need to show some respect to an OG who paved the way for them!!! What a joke.”

In December 2024, Katie reacted to the reboot.

Vanderpump Rules as we know it is gonna be no longer,” she said at the time on her Disrespectfully podcast. “They announced last Tuesday that they’re going to be rebooting it with an entirely new cast for season 12 and none of us OGs will be returning.”

“You know — as [well as] other people close to me — I didn’t plan on returning,” Katie continued. “Maybe it doesn’t matter at this point, but I had made a decision months ago after [the last reunion]. … I needed to move on with my life … And this was before we knew the show is gonna be put on pause … I talked to producers about it.”

“I felt personally ready to move on from the show. I felt like my life and where I was at was moving in a different direction. Mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, I was prepared,” she explained. “Many seasons of my life was there. I lived many lives and went through so much on that show, but … I got to a point where I just don’t know that I can live and grow and be the version of myself I want to be on the show any longer.”
