Mercedes Javid revealed what’s “horrifying” amid her divorce from Tommy Feight, and she hinted at whether they could reconcile. The star also shared whether she thinks Sky Askari can return for The Valley: Persian Style season two, and she addressed why she’s “glad” they won’t have a reunion.
In October of last year, seven years after she tied the knot, Mercedes filed for divorce. At the time, she seemed to suggest that Tommy wanted to stay together. Throughout the current season, the now-exes have hinted at their communication issues.
Speaking to ET, Mercedes shared what’s “horrifying” amid her divorce.
“I’m still married. … We’re both wearing our rings. And I think that the idea of moving on is horrifying,” she said, “and hopefully [that’s] very far away from both of us.”
She was then asked if reconciliation is possible.
“If we were to keep going down the road of dead end, dead end, dead end, then no, it wouldn’t be possible,” she said. “But also like not moving on at the same time.”
As for how Tommy reacted to the divorce filing, Mercedes expressed, “He was surprised that I was going to follow through with like a conversation that I had had a lot — where I was like, ‘You know, we deserve to be really happy and work through these things and not choosing to be angry all the time.'”
She said Tommy hasn’t reacted to how he comes across on the show. Later on, Mercedes shared whether she thinks Sky (who feuded with most of the cast) can return for season two.
“Absolutely, she should,” said Mercedes. “Much like Tommy, I think Sky needs to be more vulnerable and then lead with those feelings instead of presenting. You know, she’s also very stubborn, and I think that that’s just going to make her feel more full of regret. … [She should be] less defensive, [like] that hard line that she puts down with Tanin.”
But Mercedes doesn’t think Sky, after watching the show back, has changed her mind about her behavior.
“I’m glad we’re not doing a reunion. I’ve known that we weren’t going to, and I would rather that we work our things out [ourselves],” she said. “Reunions are very confrontational. And the finality in that with Sky, I don’t think it would help.”
Despite everything, Mercedes believes that Tommy will film for season two, and she “pray[s]” this will force conversations they’ve put off.
