Salley Carson doubled down on her claim that Craig Conover is “calculated,” and she alleged he “comes around” more when they’re “about to start filming.” She also hinted at what she thinks is his secret motive.
On the new season of Southern Charm, Salley and Craig seemed to be getting serious before he abruptly ended things. Soon after, their friendship turned hostile as they started shading each other. In one episode, she even told her friend, Charley Manley (who was dating Craig at the time), that he was “calculated.”
Speaking to ET, Salley doubled down on her claim that Craig is “calculated.”
“I adore Craig, and I love our friendship that we have, but he comes around more so when, like, the reunion’s coming up, or when we’re about to start filming,” she explained. “He starts to check in more.”
“It feels like he’s only doing it because cameras are about to come back up … like he’s trying to kind of patch things up before the reunion, or before the next season or whatever it is,” she continued. “I don’t really like that, because I would love to have a solid friendship with him throughout the year. And I think that is really the main issue.”
But did Craig lead Salley on?
“[There were] never romantic vibes between us. … I wouldn’t call it leading me on now, but we did hang out a lot,” she said. “You know, he would FaceTime me, he would text me, and all that stuff. So someone’s bound to catch feelings when all that’s going on, and you’re at his house late [at] night. … But I wouldn’t use the word[s] ‘led on.'”
Back in January, Salley said she never suggested that anything happened with Craig in the hot tub.
“I don’t think I was, like, alluding to anything happening. But maybe I wanted something to happen. I’m in a hot tub till 4 a.m. Who doesn’t want something to happen?” she said on WWHL. “I really don’t know [why he didn’t make a move]. This was weird vibes … There was one night where he almost stayed the night, but … We texted a little bit. I never went back. … Craig never gave those vibes [for me] to make a move on.”
