Teddi Mellencamp shared a medical update, as she revealed why she went to the emergency room after an urgent care doctor told her to go “immediately.”
About a year ago, Teddi shared that she has brain cancer. At the time, doctors removed several tumors in surgery. Recently, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star said she’s currently doing immunotherapy.
“People have been DMing me. They want to know why you were in the emergency room,” said Teddi’s co-host Tamra Judge on their podcast, Two Ts in a Pod.
“I woke up one day, and my whole body was just covered [in] almost like sores,” said Teddi. “The urgent care doctor immediately was like, ‘No, you need to go to the ER right now.'”
She then shared what caused the episode.
“I was given a medication, like a new medication,” said Teddi. “And I was allergic to it. … Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.”
Back in February, Teddi opened up about feeling lonely amid her health battle.
“I just feel really sad and lonely. It’s been a year since all of this happened, and I know I should be so grateful, but I don’t even have my memories from before. Like, I can’t even remember the year and a half before,” she said on Two Ts in a Pod at the time. She then alluded to her separation from husband Edwin Arroyave, saying, “I miss just having, like, a family unit and doing things together as a family.”
“It’s so bizarre because I think that it happened so quick, and I know that I don’t want to talk about this over and over again, but I think I just, because I didn’t expect it to happen … then this happened, and in the past year I just thought I was going to be better than I am now,” she continued. “I’m, like, dreading [my immunotherapy appointment] because they can’t find my veins anymore, and I don’t want to have to get a port … It’s because they’ve done it so many times. … I really wanted to be in a better place now, and it’s weird. I can’t even plan little things that I used to love to do. … My kids have asked me three times, ‘What are we doing for spring break?’ And, like, I can’t even plan it.”
