Following The Real Housewives of New York City OG stars’ move from Bravo to E!, an insider exclusively revealed to Reality Blurb that the stars of The Real Housewives of New Jersey could be next.
RHONJ has been on pause since season 14 ended in August 2024, and while there have been some updates along the way, including test filming that took place last summer, there has been no official announcement about the show returning to date.
“Bravo is taking their time with the RHONJ women, and it’s starting to become a similar situation with what they did with the OG RHONY women,” a source shared. “They’re dangling carrots and leaving them hanging, all while there is still no show and no official movement forward.”
Due to time continuing to pass and a lack of solid updates, the insider noted that “at some point” the women will “get frustrated” like the OG RHONY women did and will “figure out an exit plan.”
“That could very likely be going to E! and pitching a show just like the RHONY women did,” the source spilled. “The RHONY OG’s realized their worth was not just glued to a network and banded together to finally get something new off the ground.”
They noted Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, and Margaret Josephs “are stars” who “make a good show and know how to bring it.”
“They also still have a ton of fans that want to see them back on TV and who have been vocal about that,” they continued. “Just because Bravo isn’t making moves doesn’t mean the women shouldn’t.”
While they revealed Bravo was set to start doing more test filming with some potential new cast members “soon,” they warned that “doesn’t necessarily mean there will be a show.” As evidence, they cited last summer’s test filming, which resulted in no new developments for RHONJ.
“At the end of the day, the fans will have to remain patient, but it’s only a matter of time till the RHONJ women decide to walk, [band] together, and pursue a new project at another network,” they concluded. “Bravo needs to stop stalling on shows fans want, as, at the end of the day, it’s not productive for fan engagement, retention, or ratings.”
As Page Six reported in February 2026, Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, and Kelly Bensimon inked a deal for a new show on E! called The Golden Life.
“This [original] cast really represented the golden years of RHONY,” a source shared at the time. “After Bravo fired Jill, Kelly, Alex McCord and Cindy [Barshop], the ratings dropping like 40% and never really recovered. Meanwhile, the viewers just don’t like the new crop, and they’ve been begging for the old cast to come back.”
After the show was announced, Jill put her foot in her mouth during the Super Bowl halftime show, calling Bad Bunny’s show “the worst halftime show.” She also complained about him singing in Spanish and there being “no white people” in the entire performance.
Blink49 Studios, the producers of The Golden Life, ended up firing Jill for her commentary.
“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in The Golden Life,” they said in a statement. “We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”
In the wake of Jill’s departure, it was announced that Dorinda Medley would be joining the cast.
