Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have reached an agreement regarding child custody and support as their divorce continues.
The pair detailed their plan in court documents, which specified neither party would have to pay the other for child support related to their son, Cruz Michael Cauchi. Instead, whichever parent Cruz is with at the time will be responsible for covering his expenses.
As for custody time, Jax will have Cruz every other weekend and on Wednesday nights, and Brittany will have their son the rest of the time.
According to the records obtained by TMZ, the couple agreed to share joint legal custody and responsibility regarding Cruz’s health, education, and general welfare. However, Brittany will have the final say on Cruz’s health if she and Jax cannot agree.
Other details in the legal documents included a schedule outlining who would have Cruz on holidays, a stipulation that he could not meet new significant others of his parents until they’d been with them for at least six months, and an agreement not to be under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, or any other drug while they were in charge of their son.
They also agreed to try to celebrate Cruz’s birthday together and not to badmouth one another in front of their son.
The Vanderpump Rules alums had a tumultuous relationship, dating on and off before ultimately marrying in 2019. In February 2024, it was confirmed that the pair had separated, and Brittany ended up filing for divorce in August 2024. As the divorce battle has raged on, things have definitely been very heated at times, as fans saw on season two of The Valley.
During this weekend, Jax took to X to declare he’s now a year and a half sober.
“I drank from when I was 13 until I was 39. I now have 1.5yrs alcohol free. You can do it Jax. I’m still rooting for you,” wrote a fan to Jax.
Jax responded on March 8, “I am a year and half as well.”

In April 2025, Brittany revealed their son was autistic in an exclusive interview with People.
While she noted Cruz had crawled, walked, and said some words early, she shared, “As he got closer to 2, we started noticing that he was regressing in his speech. He stopped talking almost completely.”
After confirming he’s autistic, Brittany explained his condition “can be difficult” as she’s never heard her son say he loves her.
“Our life is going to look a little bit different, but I feel like I was meant to be his mom,” she said. “He is my better half. He is my little partner in crime. He is everything to me, and even though he can’t talk, I know everything that he wants, everything that he needs. We’re just so synced, it’s incredible.”
Although she admitted it “can be challenging at times,” Brittany insisted she “couldn’t imagine” her life being different.
“It can be sad at times because you want them to live life to the fullest, and he does, he just does it in a different way,” she explained. “What I really want people to understand about autism is he sees the world so much more vibrant and amazing than any of us ever will. It doesn’t mean that he’s not going to be the smartest in his class. It doesn’t mean he is not going to work for NASA one day. There aren’t any limitations to what he can do.”
She also claimed she’s “trying to do everything” she can to help Cruz “live the happiest life ever.”
“I feel very blessed that I’m able to give him everything that he needs, and that’s why I want to help as many mothers as I can,” she added. “I have learned so much over the past couple years.”
