Sutton Stracke called out Amanda Frances’ “PR tactic” – and suggested she’s showing a “façade.” She also hinted at the reason for their castmates’ anger toward Amanda, and clapped back at Lisa Rinna’s mean comments in her new book.
On the new season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Sutton and Amanda argued after the newbie suggested that Sutton’s ex-assistant wanted to work for Amanda to “piss” Sutton “off.” Amanda has since had issues with other costars, though she’s defended herself in interviews outside of the show.
Speaking to ET, Sutton shaded Amanda’s press interviews.
“What she says in press is so interesting. Now when you think about it, she’s just going to answer the way she wants to answer. She’s not really going to listen to your question. She knows what she’s going to say, which is a big PR tactic,” said Sutton. “And that makes it not real. And it’s like, can we break the facade down and get to what’s real?”
Sutton hinted that this was the cause of “frustration” with Amanda this season.
“Because we want to get to know you. We don’t really care about your business. Like we don’t care,” she said. “I kind of [told] her, ‘We need to know you before we know your business, right? That’s the more important part.'”
“[Amanda should] share more of herself and her family life and who she is as a person and not use her family to show us what a great family she has,” Sutton went on. “What are your problems in your family life? Share them with us, because we all have problems in our family lives too.”
But Sutton insisted that her sharing a room with Amanda on the cast trip was not “strategic” (despite what castmates believe).
“It’s wild to watch the cast be so suspicious of why I’m rooming with Amanda,” said Sutton. “You know, I’ve never done anything strategic on the show ever.”
At one point, Sutton clapped back at Lisa’s mean comments in her book, You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It. (In one chapter, Lisa called Sutton “frumpy” and claimed she has a “weird body.”)
“A friend of mine told me [what Lisa wrote], and I was like, you know, I don’t even care to [respond]. It’s just so beneath me,” she explained. “I just don’t even recognize it. … I’m in a really good place and feel very happy. And I just want … to share that [positivity].”
