Mikayla Matthews revealed that the entire cast of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives decided to pause filming – as she shared why. Meanwhile, Mikayla addressed her salary on the show, as Chase McWhorter gave her a bizarre birthday tribute.
Earlier this week, reports indicated that SLOMW stopped filming amid allegations that police were investigating a potential domestic dispute concerning Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex Dakota Mortensen. There were also allegations that their children were perhaps involved.
In a March 19 Instagram post, Mikayla shared who decided to pause filming.
“It was a decision that all us girls came up with and agreed on,” said Mikayla, suggesting it wasn’t production or Hulu. “We didn’t feel comfortable filming with everything that was happening.”

In another post, Mikayla was asked how much she was paid on the show.
“Not enough hehe 👀,” she answered.

Around the same time, Mikayla’s nemesis Chase made a bizarre birthday tribute to her.
On his Instagram Stories, Chase shared a photo of Mikayla holding her baby – as he put a cutout of himself standing next to her.
“[Happy birthday] Pisces twin!” he wrote above the image, via @secretlivesupdates on Instagram. “Hope u have the best day! @mikayla__matt.”
On March 17, Taylor addressed the rumored domestic dispute between herself and Dakota.
“There’s more to the context to everything and it’s unfortunate,” said Taylor at the time, in an interview for Us Weekly. “It’s been hard. And it sucks to be in this position. And the mother that I am, that is something I will always stand my ground on. I believe that I am a good mother and I have always treated my kids very well. So the headlines that are out right now are very hard to see because that’s not the truth of it. I have always treated my children with respect and I’ve never touched them. So it’s been really hard.”
“It’s another premiere that’s been taken away from me,” she said of the upcoming premiere of The Bachelorette, which she recently filmed as lead. “I’ve never enjoyed a premiere for any one of my shows. So it’s just been very sad.”
