Dara Levitan addressed pursuing KJ Dillard over Ben Waddell, Ciara Miller’s love triangle, and a rumor that the new castmates will take over Summer House as original stars transition to its spinoff, In the City.
Though Dara entered the house as ‘West Wilson‘s ex,’ Dara eventually chose to pursue KJ (after things went cold with Ben). In the past, certain castmates have addressed how the original stars are outgrowing the premise of the show, which essentially is about young people partying in the Hamptons.
On Page Six‘s Virtual Reali-Tea, Dara addressed pursuing KJ over Ben.
“There was something different about [KJ] for me he was a little bit more soft-spoken he led forward with, like, this very kind, warm energy,” said the star, who described KJ as a “man written by a woman.”
“When he gets feedback he does not get defensive or lead out with ego; he really cares about how people are feeling,” Dara added. She also revealed that things are still going well between them, and he’s “wonderful.”
As for the love triangle between West, Ciara and Jesse Solomon, Dara said Ciara and West have a “special” connection, though she doesn’t think West is ready to commit.
“I think that’s the limbo he continues to fight through,” said Dara.
She then addressed Jesse’s wish for a “jokey makeout” with Ciara. Dara thinks it has to do with the “male ego” and a “fear of rejection.”
“If you’re having a conversation about wanting to be more than friends, just say your feelings,” she advised Jesse.
Dara described herself as the “number one leader of the Lindsay Hubbard fan club,” as she said she felt comforted by Lindsay’s unfiltered and direct personality.
“I love that you know exactly where you stand with her,” said Dara. “She’s asking the questions straight out. She’s making the comments with no excuses. What better way to be?”
Dara then discussed how her ex West recommended her for the show.
“I met a man on Hinge and it somehow you know evolved into this opportunity,” she said.
Dara hinted that she likes to “control the narrative,” and she had to have serious talks with her therapist about joining Summer House. She eventually realized, however, that she needed to put herself out there.
In an interview for Decider, Dara was asked about the rumor that the “new people” of Summer House will take over – as the original castmates move to In the City.
“I mean, it’s hard. I think that [the OGs] are the backbone of the experience and the vibe and the energy. And I sought so much comfort in them being there because it’s natural to them,” she said. “… I think there’s absolutely a world in which [Summer House] has a future moving forward looking a little bit different, including a little bit of a different group.”
“But I think the OGs did an incredible job of building this show up to be evergreen,” she added. “And we thank them for that.”
