Katie Ginella revealed her one regret on the Real Housewives of Orange County, and shared what was she “was told” to do. The star also recalled a phone call with Bravo amid her drama with Emily Simpson – and addressed how Katie responded.
On the latest season, many fans accused Emily of being cruel toward Katie, who was eventually fired. Katie also saw the end of her friendships with Jennifer Pedranti and Gretchen Rossi. At the time, many viewers questioned why Katie didn’t seem to defend herself.
In a recent Instagram video, Katie was asked by a fan, “Do you have any regrets or wish you did anything different on RHOC?”
“The only thing I think I regret is giving people so much grace when I didn’t get any,” she answered, via @housewivesfromahousewife on Instagram. “I was told to make amends and be friends with people so that this could be an actual friend group. So that’s what I tried to do.”
“I said sorry even though I probably said sorry way too much,” she went on. “But that’s how I felt. I truly genuinely didn’t want to make anyone feel bad or hurt their feelings, and I wish I wouldn’t have, because they didn’t do that same in return for me. Lesson learned.”
Around the same time, Katie recalled a phone call with Bravo.
“When all this was airing and [my costars] were getting all this hate – especially Emily and Jen and a little bit to Gretchen – I got a call from Bravo that said, ‘Hey, maybe do you wanna put out something that says, “Hey, although I appreciate the love, please don’t send any hate to my castmembers. Please stop messaging, please stop commenting.”‘ And I was like, ‘Why is that my responsibility?'” said Katie on Murderish the Podcast, via @just_bookin_around on TikTok.
“Did they do that for you?” asked the host.
“No,” Katie answered. “In fact, they iced me out, kicked me off. Jen made sure I didn’t get paid and made sure I didn’t get another contract. Like, why is that my responsibility?”
