Scheana Shay and Katie Maloney reacted to Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s controversial romance, as the Vanderpump Rules stars alluded to their past experiences with Scandoval.
In 2023, Katie and Scheana’s co-star, Tom Sandoval, achieved national infamy after his affair with Rachel Leviss (his then-girlfriend Ariana Madix’s good friend) went public. The scandal shocked the cast of Pump Rules and indirectly led to the end of the show as fans knew it.
Earlier this week, Amanda and West surprised Summer House fans as they confirmed their romance. Many viewers are outraged by the news, given that Amanda is good friends with West’s ex, Ciara Miller. To make matters worse, West is also friends with Amanda’s estranged husband, Kyle Cooke, amid their recent split.
On March 31, Scheana reacted to the controversy.
First, a fan addressed the Summer House drama on Threads, “NOT THE MATE’S MISSUS.”
Scheana responded, “Omg I literally said this today!!!”
Another fan asked, “Where is Scheana Shay with her acrylic nails to [punch]?” This alludes to Scheana’s past claim that she couldn’t have punched Rachel after learning of the affair because her acrylic nails would have made it impossible. (After the alleged altercation between the co-stars, Rachel filed for a temporary restraining order.)
“Fresh set 💅 ready to be put in play,” Scheana replied.

Around the same time, Scheana’s co-star Katie revealed her own reaction to the news.
“To be a fly on the group chat wall!” wrote Katie in a comment, via Threads. “If any of them wanna add me I feel like I could help assist.”
“Omg so this is what it’s like being on the other side of Scandoval!!!???” she went on. “Whoa.”
On March 31, Amanda and West released a joint statement on Instagram.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposefully hide anything. Given the complicated dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it,” they said.
“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing that either of us expected,” the stars went on. “Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
