Porsha Williams reacted to speculation that her “love interest” on Real Housewives of Atlanta is a “paid actor” amid a bizarre video about him getting onto the show because they “need a guy.”
On the season 17 premiere, Porsha hosted an event at her house as she introduced a new man, Michael ‘Mike’ Anthony. But Porsha’s relationship with Mike was unclear, as she described him as her “friend.” In one scene, Mike thanked guests for coming to the event, and some castmates wondered why he was acting like the host.
In a bizarre video shared by @kountrywayne and @thebravoshaderoom on Instagram, Mike spoke with a man who told him that filming for RHOA would be good for his “following” and “brand,” as he knows a producer who says they “need a guy” to be a “love interest.”
Mike responded that “acting is my thing,” and reality TV isn’t his “vibe.” But he eventually shared that he’d be willing to do it.
In the caption of the post, The Bravo Shade Room wrote, “Wait! Mike was just a paid actor?”
Porsha then reacted in the comments.
“Absolutely false story,” she clarified. “This is a SKIT filmed after rhoa season.”

In a December interview with PEOPLE, Porsha addressed her new relationship with Patrice “Sway” McKinney.
“I’ve been in reality TV for 10-plus years, okay. But yes, this was definitely different for obvious reasons,” said Porsha, whose previous relationships on camera were with men. “I didn’t want to hide any parts of me. I felt if I did hide it and it had to be caught somewhere, it just wouldn’t feel authentic.”
“I want to live in my truth, and so in doing that, I have found someone who I really enjoy getting to know, and it’s been great,” she added. “I think the best thing is when you find someone that you can see yourself in, and you guys match, and everything is comfortable, it’s warm. … You definitely want to be with someone warm who you can enjoy — and family. … So I’m very blessed.”
New episodes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta air on Sunday nights on Bravo.
