Zack Wickham claimed Jax Taylor is still mistreating his ex, Brittany Cartwright, as he’s “not changed much” since getting sober. Castmate Jasmine Goode then reacted and revealed the last text Jax sent her.
Last season on The Valley, Jax was blasted by co-stars over his treatment of Brittany, the mother of their child, before he went to rehab. Later at the reunion, he alleged she wasn’t letting him see their kid. Amid the fan backlash, Jax exited The Valley and wasn’t in the cast for the new season.
“[Jax] might or might not be sober. I don’t know,” said Zack on Riccio Recaps. “My opinion is he’s not changed much. On top of that, I know how he’s still treating Brittany to this day, to this morning. And it is not great.”
“I have always said, get help and put in the work,” Zack continued. “If you want to make amends, make amends. But if you’re not going to do it and you’re still going to treat the one person you need to treat better, the mother of your child … I don’t play that game. So like, sorry, sir. Bye.”
Zack’s co-star, Jasmine, agreed.
“I just haven’t talked to Jax like at all. The last time I texted — well, he texted me like saying, ‘Congratulations on your engagement,'” she recalled. “I’m like, ‘Bro, I’ve been engaged for like a year, what are you talking about? Like, I saw you at the reunion with a ring on my finger. We talked about this.'”
“But maybe it’s a part of his steps of his journey,” she added. “But yeah, I have no relationship with him, and Brittany’s my girl.”
In September of last year, Jax opened up about his addiction.
“Trauma and mental health issues are the drive for addiction, and I think that’s 100% [true] for me,” said Jax on his In The Mind Of Jax Taylor podcast. “I do not like the taste of alcohol. I do not like snorting f**king s**t up my nose. It’s not fun. It doesn’t taste good. It doesn’t feel good. But these things make me feel better in the moment, so I don’t have to think about my marriage. So I don’t have to think about the trauma … I don’t think about my father.”
“Like I said, I don’t like doing it. I hate the taste of alcohol. I hate f**king my nose burning, sneezing, and not being able to breathe. It sucked,” the star added. “But this is the only thing I could do to make me feel good.”
