Teddi Mellencamp Shares the Big Mistake New Housewives Make, Says RHOC Newbie Dr. Jen Armstrong is “Putting on a Show”The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp is spilling all the details when it comes to joining the franchise and what mistakes the newbies continue to make.

Speaking with her co-host Tamra Judge on their Two T’s in a Pod podcast, Teddi said that a lot of the first-time cast members have a very hard time adjusting and acting natural.

Teddi went on to speak about one of the newest Real Housewives of Orange County stars, Dr. Jen Armstrong.

“I think right now she’s putting on a little bit of a show,” she said on her podcast.

Tamra followed up, saying, “But I feel like that’s the problem with brand new girls. They come in and they have an expectation, like ‘I’ve gotta do this, I’ve gotta do that.’”

Speaking from her own three-season-stint experience, Teddi said that she believes she was able to be more authentic because she wasn’t an actual viewer of RHOBH before joining the cast.

“I think there’s a difference if you start the show and you’ve never watched it before, versus you’re a fan,” she explained.

“I truly, one million percent, never watched Housewives prior,” she said. “If you go in like that you can probably do it a little more authentically.”

However, by her second season, Teddi admitted that she had started to feel herself changing and “shifting” because she had begun to see how the whole behind-the-scenes process played out, and she learned how the game needed to be played after watching a whole season back.

“I felt a shift in myself because all of a sudden I knew, I started thinking through things and knowing things were gonna happen because I had watched,” she said.

Since leaving the show, Teddi has continued to stay in the spotlight with her lifestyle brand and her and Tamra’s Two T’s in a Pod podcast, which has become quite the hit. It has remained in the top 30 overall Apple podcasts since its release, and it shows no signs of slowing down.
