Fans are slamming Alexis Bellino for posting a tanning-bed pic and declaring she’ll “block” anyone with “negative” comments. Some of her followers accused the Real Housewives of Orange County star of promoting something “terrible” and sending a “bad message.”
Last summer, Alexis announced her engagement to John Janssen, the ex of Alexis’ castmate Shannon Beador. The couple plans to tie the knot soon.
In a September 29 Instagram post, Alexis shared a pic of herself in a tanning bed.
“Extreme weddings call for extreme measures 😭,” wrote Alexis in her caption. “Haven’t done this in decades but I don’t like any spray tan coloring, so here I am.”
“And please keep your negative, predictable and boring comments to yourself or I’ll block you,” said Alexis. “This tanning bed is all about love.”
Fans then shared their reactions in the comments.
“The fact that you even post this picture with the caption speaks volumes,” wrote one fan. “Why even post this? I mean tan if you want..but no need to post it. Also many young people follow you and posts like this send [a] bad message.”
“Fun fact – if you don’t post about it, people can’t come for you on it,” wrote another user. “Just a thought.”
“This is a terrible thing to promote,” said a different fan.
“Do you know, if you don’t post the photo, I bet no one would even know you used a tanning bed to even give you negativity (aka concerns for your health),” said a fourth.
“I really wish you wouldn’t go in a tanning bed, I have stage 4 melanoma,” wrote a fifth. “It’s such an awful disease! No hate intended just awareness.”
“Well I hope you get your skin checked yearly…that is all,” said a sixth.
“Man I just hope you educate yourself on Melanoma. I was just diagnosed from using tanning beds back in college, it’s no joke,” wrote another. “Those should really be illegal. Good luck to you though.”
