Actor and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Harry Hamlin is opening up about the time he was sent to jail and forced to do PCP.
Harry recalled this interesting time of his life on the December 4 episode of the Let’s Not Talk About the Husbands podcast, which he shares with his wife, Lisa Rinna. The topic came up when ketamine was mentioned, and he wondered if it was similar to PCP.
“I have never had ketamine, but … in jail, I was forced to smoke PCP,” he shared during the Let’s Not Talk About the Husband episode. Naturally, Lisa was shocked by his admission and wanted to know how this had happened. In a nutshell, he was arrested for transporting around 25 pills, which turned out to be speed and “a 25th of an ounce of grass.” It’s worth noting that the “grass,” or marijuana, was his payment for transporting the pills.
According to Harry, “It was exam season, and I was at Berkley. And my upperclassmen in the fraternity house I was living in came to me before I was going down to L.A. for Thanksgiving, which is around exam time. And he said, ‘Take these pills down to another house at USC.”
He went on, “They need these for their exams’ So I take them down, and they didn’t want the pills. So I had to take it back.” After the fraternity brothers rejected the pills, Harry then traveled with them and marijuana by airplane and ended up getting arrested. He was then sentenced to 18 days in a county jail, which he served on the weekends.
Regarding the PCP, he then shared that one of his fellow inmates insisted he try a “joint.” After trying it, he learned that it was tobacco that had been soaked in PCP instead of being marijuana.
Harry recalled, “He said, ‘Have some of this.’ So that’s how I was forced to have the PCP because what it was, was somebody had brought in a little sack of tobacco, of rolling tobacco, and they had soaked it in PCP.”
The former RHOBH star asked for specifics, and he replied, “It was just tobacco soaked in PCP. So they were smoking it, so there was no odor, but they were high as kites.”
Harry concluded, “I was so stoned, because the guy forced me to take three or four hits of it, right? And I was completely messed up after I had that. So that’s my PCP story, and I can’t imagine if ketamine is anything like PCP, why anybody would use it to get better?”
