Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi shared more details behind her verbal fight with Sky Askari on The Valley: Persian Style. The star also addressed her drama with Mercedeh “MJ” Javid, and hinted at where they stand.
In the premier season, Sky dramatically walked away from a dinner scene. At the time, several castmates, including Golnesa, seemed to call out Sky’s negative comments about living in The Valley.
On the AllAboutTRH podcast, Golnesa revealed more details behind what led up to their argument. According to GG, a point of contention was that MJ had been working as a realtor for Sky on a possible move to Bel-Air. However, things came to a head when MJ realized that Sky allegedly lacked the funds for the move.
“So she walks by me with a glass cup and she goes, ‘Oh you’re drinking out of a plastic cup. You’re so cheap,’ and she walks off,” recalled Golnesa, who said they had just finished cleaning all day at the rental. “And I’m like, what the f*** just happened?”
“There was a lot of conversation between Mercedes and [Sky],” she added. “What people didn’t know is MJ was doing real estate for her… and she sees they don’t have that. So she was very offended that for a couple of months Sky had her away from her job, away from her son. … I’m just getting heated for my friend.”
Golnesa said Sky insulted several costars.
“She’s insulting Tanin. She’s assaulting Reza, telling him to get the f*** out of her face. I think when I saw that, I was like, oh it’s a wrap,” said the star – who claimed Sky wasn’t actually financially prepared to move out of The Valley, despite her narrative on the season. She suggested that Sky wasted MJ’s time.
Later on, Golnesa addressed her drama with Mercedes. (In a recent episode, MJ invited Golnesa to a twilight real estate event. At the time, Golnesa wasn’t aware that it would be happening at the house of her sister amid their complicated dynamic.)
“Yeah, it’s definitely a toxic relationship. It’s hard,” said Golnesa. “My situation with MJ is not something that people see on camera. It’s ongoing, and it’s caused me to take a lot of space from MJ because I’m like, okay, I know you share your time between us, but that makes it difficult for me.”
“I need to be able to come to you as my friend and vent to you about things, and I can’t do that,” she stated. “Instead of you coming to me and saying, ‘Hey, look, I have a twilight, I need to impress, Mauricio couldn’t do it anywhere else, but I can. And your sister’s house… I totally understand if you say no, but is it okay?’ — come to me like that.”
According to Golnesa, the most hurtful part was finding out about Mercedes’ event in such a public way.
“Don’t go talk to everybody else and then let me know I’m invited,” she said. “And if I don’t show up, then I’m not a supportive friend. You know what I mean?”
