Heather Dubrow reacted to Gina Kirschenheiter exposing her “trashy” comment about Carmella Garcia. The star also shared where she stands with Gina and Carmella, and addressed feeling “constantly” left out in the cast.
Earlier this season on Real Housewives of Orange County, Gina revealed how Heather said off camera that Carmella seems “trashy.” Heather then apologized to Carmella. Some fans have questioned if Gina intentionally exposed Heather’s comment because she was jealous that Heather hired Carmella as her realtor instead of her.
On After the Edit, host Daryn Carp suggested Gina may have brought up Heather’s “trashy” comment because she was mad at Heather. The host also suggested that castmates assume Heather had hidden intentions in hiring Carmella.
“Yeah, they think I’m very Machiavellian,” said Heather. “If I thought about [things as much as they believe], I wouldn’t get in as much trouble as I do.”
At one point, Heather addressed Emily Simpson and other castmates’ earlier prediction that Andy Cohen would confront Heather the most at the reunion.
“I would love to hear the answers now that they’ve watched the season,” said Heather, who shared that her conflict with Carmella affected her the most this season because she “feel[s] really bad” about what she said about her.
She hinted that Emily and Gina “talk about stuff all the time,” but Heather doesn’t have a safe space to discuss things off camera. According to Heather, when she said that Carmella was trashy-looking, she was just “figuring [her] out,” and she never would have told her this if it “hadn’t been brought up.”
She also claimed that her comment had to do with Carmella’s past “restraining order” and “bar fight.” Heather added that, in general, castmates have used the word “trashy” to refer to other people “a hundred times more than” Heather saying it “once” to Gina.
When asked where she stands with Gina, Heather said she’s still a “huge fan” of her, and she’s “so proud of her” – as Heather would “never” do anything intentionally to hurt her. Heather indicated that she’s in a good place with Carmella, who accepted her apology.
As for castmates questioning the sincerity of her friendship with Carmella, Heather suggested that people “want [Heather] to fail,” and she’s “held to a higher standard.” She then recalled how Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador went “nuclear” on her during a cast trip to Montana when Heather said she felt left out after her costars were hanging out without her.
Heather said she also felt left out “constantly” this season, and she chose a certain room on the Las Vegas trip because it was closer to the living room. According to Heather, she thought that if she was further away, then “no one would come and get me” and she wouldn’t “hear when people were hanging out.” But Heather said she gets “s**t” for expressing that she feels left out, which is a “tough place to be.”
