90 Day Fiance could very well be described as the show that keeps on giving!
Following a number of successful spinoffs, the original version of the show returns on October 8, at 9/8c on TLC.
The fifth season will bring us four new couples as well as one returning couple from the previous season.
Above is the first couple Molly Hopkins, 41, and Luis Emmanuel Mendez, 26. Molly is from Woodstock, Georgia while Luis is from the Dominican Republic. The two met at a local bar where Luis was bartending while Molly was on a girls’ trip to the Dominican Republic and after less than two months, Luis proposed to Molly. Talk about moving fast! But it won’t be all smooth sailing for the couple as Luis will have to endear himself to Molly’s two daughters, 17-year old Olivia and 6-year old Kensley, as well as try to convince Molly’s conservative father that he wants more than just a green card.
And if Molly looks familiar to you, it’s because she isn’t new to the reality show genre. She once appeared on the reality show Double Divas which was about her LiviRae boutique in Atlanta which specializes in helping women with bra fittings. That show was cancelled in 2014.
MEET THE REST OF THE 90 DAY FIANCE SEASON 5 COUPLES BELOW!
Couple number two is Josh, 43, from Arizona and Aika, 36, who is a Philippines native. Some are already describing these two as the new Anfisa and Jorge so they will be one to watch! The two met on a dating app and he was drawn to her profile despite being accidentally matched outside of his local search. A few months after messaging with Aika, Josh flew to the Philippines to propose to her with an engagement ring and of course she said yes! Josh now plans to bring his new fiance back to Arizona with him, where she will have to deal with the skepticism of some of Josh’s friends who suspect she’s only in this for a green card.
Elizabeth Potthast, 27, is from Florida while Andrei Castravet, 31, is a Moldova native. The two met on a social app while Elizabeth was looking for a local guide for her upcoming European vacation. They chatted online, and finally met up in person and the rest is history when it comes to their romance. While Elizabeth is excited to bring her beau Andrei to America, her family is more wary as her father and brothers fear that Andrei’s conservative and traditional views on gender roles clashes with their values.
Evelyn Cormier, 18, is from Claremont, New Hampshire and David Vazquez, 27, hails from Granada, Spain. Quite an interesting age difference there! This couple met when David saw the social media page of Evelyn, an aspiring singer, which led to the two exchanging messages. They finally met in person and Evelyn reveals she immediately fell for David’s sweet nature and strong Christian values. The two will however experience some drama as while David has a desire to live in a big city, Evelyn prefers the small-town life and being close to her family.
TLC also adds a new twist this season as they bring back Nicole, 23, and Azan Tefou, 24. Last season, we saw the couple meeting for the first time when Nicole went to visit Azan in Morocco. That visit ended with her accepting his proposal so this season continues to follow the couple’s journey. Nicole will be shown visiting Morocco again but this time around, she will bring along her 2-year old daughter May hoping her fiance Azan can be the father figure May never had. Nicole will however need to get her skeptical father on board so that he can help her co-sponsor the K-1 visa for Azan, or face losing him.
