RHOC Alum Kara Keough Shares the Tragic Loss of Her Newborn Son as Tamra Judge, Vicki Gunvalson and Bravo Stars React

Kara Keough, daughter of former Real Housewives of Orange County star Jeana Keough, has tragically lost her son.

The RHOC alum, 31, broke the news in a heartbreaking Instagram post, sharing how her son, McCoy Casey Bosworth, died during childbirth on April 6.

In the post, Kara showed a picture of her son’s name, McCoy, in green cursive and with a mournful caption.

“On April 6th, our son McCoy Casey Bosworth was born at 3:10am. Weighing in at 11 pounds and 4 ounces and spanning 21 inches, McCoy surprised us all with his size and strength (and overall perfection)…during the course of his birth, he experienced shoulder dystocia and a compressed umbilical cord,” she wrote.

“He joined our Heavenly Father and will live forever in the hearts of his loving parents, his adoring sister, and those that received his life-saving gifts,” she continued, revealing the sad news.

Kara shared she was planning and waiting for the right time to have a baby, breaking the news of her pregnancy to her personal blog, The Pushover Project, back in October 2019.

“I intentionally waited for the right time to bring you into our family for a reason, I just had no idea my reason would be this freaking excited. It’s really damn cool,” she shared in an initial blog post. “We love you like crazy already, baby. April 2nd, 2020 can’t come soon enough.”

A slew of Bravo stars shared their condolences to the grieving mother and her husband, Kyle Bosworth, and their four-year-old daughter, Decker.

“I’m so sorry, my heart hurts for you and your family,” RHOC star Tamra Judge commented, adding that she was sending her family “prayers.”

“Sending love and prayers to your family,” wrote Andy Cohen while other RHOC alum Vicki Gunvalson commented, “Bless you, Kyle, Decker and your family. I am so sorry honey.”

Vicki’s son-in-law, Ryan Culberson, also shared that he was “speechless” after learning the tragic news.

Additional Bravo stars shared their condolences, including former RHOC stars Gretchen Rossi and Lauri Peterson.

“I can’t stop crying since hearing the news this morning,” wrote Gretchen. “Our hearts just break for you guys. We will remain in constant and deliberate prayer for you and your whole family during this unimaginable loss.”

“So so sorry to hear about your loss Kara! I can’t imagine any pain running deeper than the loss of a child!” wrote Lauri, adding how she and her family are “sending positive and healing thoughts your way!”

The Real Housewives of Dallas star Cary Deuber also sent “love and prayers” to the RHOC alum, extending her grief for Kara’s loss.

Kara continued her post by sharing the message she’d like the organ/tissue procurement team to read in honor of her son.

“Tonight, we join together to honor this little savior’s gifts of life. Through him, may others find new hope and profound healing… and may he live again through them,” she wrote. “May his legacy shine in the form of lifetimes aplenty – lives filled with laughter, compassion, energy, love, and most of all gratitude. May it be said that McCoy Casey Bosworth left this world in a better place, for a better place…. that he made an impact… that he was an answered prayer… that he was a hero. May angels lead him in. Thank you, McCoy.”
