Many fans were taken aback when Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, and Heather Dubrow raised the pistols at Shannon Beador during a dinner in Aspen. Even after Shannon cried at the table, the three castmates seemed unbothered.
The Trifecta also took aim at Noella Bergener, who can’t seem to catch a break. (Newbies, of course, are easy targets on Real Housewives of Orange County.)
In an interview with E! News, Gina and Emily teased what’s to come in the season 16 finale. As Gina put it, the season will end in a way “no other franchise has ever ended before.”
“I think everybody’s gonna be very, very excited to see what comes in the final episode,” she continued, explaining, “It’s really fun… It’s something that’s completely out of character for all of us. And we all do ultimately come together as a group and I think that’s really nice to see too in a way that nobody’s done before.”
They also hinted at an unpleasant reunion. According to Gina, one of the castmates couldn’t admit she was wrong: “You think when somebody is put in a position where they’re so obviously wrong and have been proven wrong, they would just lie down at that point,” said the star. “I was really surprised to see, particularly one of the castmates, just not willing to take accountability for anything.”
Emily jokingly added, “I think it’s called sociopath.”
Although they didn’t name names, we can take a wild guess and assume it’s one of their enemies (Shannon or Noella).
Eventually, Emily mentioned Noella directly and expressed that “it was difficult to establish a foundation” with her.
“I still don’t know exactly who Noella is because I feel like she’s always trying to play a character and when you’re trying to play a character, you don’t really get to know who that person is,” continued Emily. “And it’s really hard to connect with them on a real authentic level.”
Gina seemed to agree: “You have to have a real friendship before you can have real fights. And that was just not really established.”
In Emily’s opinion, fans are so wrong about the Trifecta. “I think Gina and I and particularly Heather as well, the three of us get a lot of crap and get called ‘mean girls’ because of Shannon, but Shannon is really excellent at playing a victim on camera and making herself look like a victim,” claimed Emily.
Gina took it one step further and claimed she and Emily are actually “protecting” Shannon. “We’re just always protecting her and she’s always trying to deflect and say that we’re bad, but really we’re protecting her,” insisted the star.
I’m sure that Shannon (after hearing this interview) will thank Emily and Gina for their kindness and protection.
According to Gina, her conflict with Shannon will “come to a head” in the next episode.
