The controversial relationship of Ben Rathbun and Mahogany Roca has baffled fans of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Their romance began when the 24-year-old sent Ben a friend request (after seeing the 52-year-old’s shirtless photos).
For three months, the pair chatted online – though they never talked on the phone, or made any video calls. Although Ben never heard her voice, he fell in love with the Peruvian resident, and wanted to marry her. However, after flying to South America to meet Mahogany, Ben realized she was lying about her home, her age, and her sentiments in regard to himself. Mahogany, for her part, was questioning Ben’s intentions as well.
Recently, a fan on Reddit discovered a major relationship spoiler. The user, u/Even_Whole5242, spotted the couple as they filmed together in Peru. Two images of Mahogany and Ben were captured at a celebration of Fiestas Patrias (Peru’s national holidays, celebrating their independence from the Spanish Empire, on July 28 and July 29).

The presence of a film crew suggests the couple is returning to 90 Day Fiancé. The decision would make sense for the network, because their story was left open-ended in season 5.
Many fans, however, are not interested in seeing them again. Some viewers believed their storyline was staged, either with or without the help of producers, and pointed to Ben’s experience in stage acting. To make matters worse, Mahogany was previously enrolled in a Lima acting school.
Additionally, fans accused Ben of being a predator, based on their significant age difference. The chaos of Ben and Mahogany continues to be discussed in the fan base. The only question is: Will the chaos continue next season?
