In a recently posted video, NeNe Leakes confirmed that her son Brentt had both a stroke and congestive heart failure. The star explained that she and her family were shocked that the 23-year-old is battling this serious of a medical situation at his age.
When NeNe was a castmate on Real Housewives of Atlanta, viewers occasionally saw Brentt, who was a young child when the show first began.
NeNe said Brentt doesn’t use drugs or drink, and physicians have done several tests to figure out what triggered the episode, including HIV tests.
NeNe asked fans to pray for her son, and she explained he’s having difficulty speaking.
“I don’t even want to go into details of what happened and how I found out and what condition he was in,” said the star on Instagram.
The 23-year-old runs an Atlanta lounge, which is his “pride and joy” according to NeNe. Although the business is still running, the family is now considering the idea of selling it.
Sources speaking with TMZ shared that Brentt had a stroke and heart attack earlier this month in Atlanta, and he was soon brought to a hospital.
The insiders claimed Brentt was in the hospital for multiple days, but he’s out now and everyone hopes he’ll fully recover. Last year, Brentt’s father (and NeNe’s husband) Gregg passed away after being diagnosed with cancer.
