Lisa Vanderpump wants everyone to cut Raquel Leviss some slack after she recently checked herself into a mental health facility following the fallout of “Scandoval.”
TMZ cameras caught up with Lisa, and apparently, she had no idea that Raquel was seeking mental health treatment for undisclosed issues after her months-long affair with Tom Sandoval went public.
A reporter informed The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum that Raquel was in treatment, and Lisa responded, “She did? I didn’t even know that. When?”
Lisa, ever the Vanderpump Rules matriarch, replied to the pap, “I didn’t know that. I’m going to have to get on the phone. I’m sorry about that,” seemingly giving the notion that she intends to reach out to Raquel … or her PR team.
The paparazzi reporter then asked Lisa if she felt that the public was being too hard on Raquel for cheating with Sandoval, who unequivocally has tried to flip the narrative on its head, adamantly stating that he broke up with his girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix, two weeks prior to the affair being made public. Lisa stated that the Raquel hate is undeserved.
“Yes, I do,” Lisa responded. “I said that on Watch What Happens Live. Nobody’s perfect.”
Lisa then agreed with the paparazzo who said that people need to give Raquel “a break.” Lisa told them, “Yeah, I don’t like that all,” referring to the negative press surrounding Raquel.
Lisa’s comments have been met with mixed reviews — especially since unsubstantiated reports have surfaced that Raquel seemingly has not checked into a mental health facility but rather a lavish resort.
“This hate needs to stop. It’s terrifying that she’s been bullied like this,” one supporter commented.
Another echoed Lisa’s sentiments, saying, “I agree with Lisa. ????”
However, others are less convinced.
“Wake up people…. She’s at a resort. This is all BS,” one fan commented.
Even the infamous “$20,000, can you believe” sunglasses sporting RHOBH star Dana Wilkey popped up in the comments and said, “Because it was a spa ????”
Another commented that the paparazzo was “sick” for asking LVP to comment on Raquel’s mental health, as she has her own connection to mental health troubles following her brother’s tragic suicide, but they simultaneously slammed Raquel for her “wellness resort” stay.
“This is exactly how you know that she is not in rehab, and that she is in fact at a ‘wellness resort’ because LVP’s brother took his own life. The paparazzi’s are sick for asking her this, and Rachels team are more sadistic for putting out that story.”
Another added, “Crazy she hadn’t heard that yet. I think LVP’s brother took his own life, so this hits home to her.”
The fallout from “Scandoval” has been highly teased ahead of the Pump Rules reunion, and an alleged “brawl” broke out between two undetermined cast members during the reunion. During a recent Watch What Happens Live episode, Andy Cohen teased a shocking conversation between Raquel and Ariana on the Pump Rules finale, and Lisa took to her Twitter page to agree.
“Yep @Andy #wwhl I agree I thought and expressed at reunion one of the most astounding bits of film I’ve seen,” tweeted Lisa.
