Andy Cohen is revealing that Vanderpump Rules production had “no idea” that the affair between Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss was taking place, and it left him flabbergasted. So much so, he admitted to confronting them over it.

On a recent episode of his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy, Andy says that production followed Ariana Madix’s lead and her insistence that her close friend, Raquel, would never betray her, let alone participate in an affair with her then-boyfriend, Tom.

“This is what production pointed to because I called them once I started seeing the episodes,” Andy began. “You’re telling me you never, you guys didn’t get that this was happening?”

“They said they all kind of followed Ariana’s lead,” he continued. “Ariana was saying, ‘No, I know Raquel. This is not happening.’”

Elsewhere in the broadcast, Andy pointed out a distinction that may have gone unnoticed by production in that she specifically stated that she believed Raquel would never engage in an affair with Tom but, inversely, did not defend Tom’s character.

“You know the funny thing is, when I think about it now, if you listen to what Ariana is saying, she’s not saying I know Tom,” the Watch What Happens Live host mused. “She’s not saying Tom would never do that. Isn’t she mainly pointing to Raquel?”

Andy also took time to address the open relationship rumors that have come up on the current season of Pump Rules and stated that because Ariana was “shutting down” the claims, that’s why “no one took [the affair] further.”

“But then you look at this footage [in hindsight], and you go, ‘Wow, this story just wrote itself.’ It’s wild. I mean, it’s truly wild,” Andy explained.

During another recent episode of Radio Andy, Andy spilled some tea on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Orange County and called it a “return to form.”

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the premiere that’s scheduled for June, though it took longer than usual to get a date, an occurrence that was not lost on Andy, who said the premiere date did “shift” though he did not know why.

However, he did tease that season 17 will be one for the books.

“I’ve now seen the entire season of Orange County…It’s so great. It’s a return to form. It is 18 OC-ish episodes, and it hits the ground running. I’m very, very excited about this season.”
