Jeff Lewis clarified his comments about Kyle Richards on Watch What Happens Live, and he revealed he “texted” her afterward and has “yet to hear back.”
During the show, Jeff called the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star a “lesbian on Ozempic” amid unsubstantiated rumors that she’s romantically involved with country singer Morgan Wade and allegedly is using Ozempic for weight loss.
After his WWHL comments, Jeff addressed the situation in an interview with TMZ.
“When I brought up Kyle Richards, she’s a friend of mine, [so] I was totally joking,” he said. “I was poking fun at the absurdity of all the rumors going around that she’s a lesbian and that she’s on Ozempic.”
He then emphasized, “I simply meant it as a joke.”
When asked if he’s spoken to her since, Jeff revealed he “texted [Kyle] this morning at 6:30 a.m.,” but he has “yet to hear back.”
The radio host said he doesn’t “know” if Kyle is upset with him, but he “hope[s]” it isn’t the case.
Amid rumors that Kyle and her husband Mauricio Umansky were divorcing, Kyle took to Instagram and denied the reports.
“In regards to the news that came out about us today… Any claims regarding us divorcing are untrue. However, yes, we have had a rough year,” she wrote at the time. “The most challenging one of our marriage. But we both love and respect each other tremendously. There has been no wrongdoing on anyone’s part. Although we are in the public eye, we ask to be able to work through our issues privately. While it may be entertaining to speculate, please do not create false stories to fit a further salacious narrative.”
