There’s a lot to talk about regarding The Real Housewives of Orange County. So far, much of it has to do with the current goings-on with the cast since filming has wrapped, as Tamra Judge and Vicki Gunvalson are sparring back and forth on social media. Now, Gina Kirschenheiter is opening up about being afraid to confront Emily Simpson over her reaction to Shannon Beador‘s issues. Plus, she says she wants the show to include more fun moments.

As fans know, Shannon got a DUI last year. As a result, some of the cast, mostly Tamra, have been rather harsh on her despite her efforts to take accountability and move on. Emily has also had harsh words for the troubled star, and Gina felt that she was influenced by Tamra.

Recently, Gina spoke to Ok! Magazine about the situation and why she was afraid of confronting Emily over potentially being biased against Shannon. She told the outlet, “I was so scared of Emily because I knew that Shannon said something to her. I was acknowledging the fact that I felt like Emily was being a little mean.”

She continued, “I knew that I was saying that, so I was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s going to kill me. She’s so mad at me.’ I know my best friend. I do not want to fight my best friend.”

Gina also discussed her issues with Heather Dubrow after Katie Ginella spread rumors that she called the paparazzi on multiple occasions. She said, “I’m always good with Heather because we genuinely care about each other. I understand that she was upset with me at the beginning of all this, but the bottom line is I immediately told Heather the truth. The only reason why I never told her in the first place is because I thought I had handled that.”

She explained, “I thought telling her [Dubrow] would just make it so that they, she and Katie, could never have a friendship. Which is basically what they have now. I was trying to avoid what was going to happen for both of them.”

Gina also spoke to PopCulture.com about the show and how she wants Housewives shows to become more fun and less about going zero to 200 regarding fights. She first talked about how hard it was to watch back her decision to live separately from her boyfriend.

She said, “It’s always scary whenever I have anything going on in my personal life to then have to watch it back. Obviously, those aren’t my favorite moments to watch, but we’re moving through it, and it is what it is.”

She then discussed her fight with Emily by saying, “As much as it’s uncomfortable to watch, I also think it’s kind of cool to watch because, at the end of the day, we really are very close friends. She’s literally like my sister and friends fight.”

She continued, “I think it’s kind of cool and healthy to watch a normal fight between friends versus sometimes [when] we’re getting to this place where it’s like if you get in a fight with anybody, it goes from zero to 200 very quickly and oftentimes there’s no coming back from it. I’m just not as comfortable even being around that or being involved in it. … I want to see more fun.”

Despite the drama, Gina feels that RHOC has found its “sweet spot.” According to her, “It’s been really cool to be part of [RHOC] for so long. But to recognize and understand that we’ve hit a sweet spot feels really good.”

Fans can watch RHOC on Thursday nights.
