Love & Marriage: Huntsville alum Melody Shari recently took to social media to go into detail about the alleged abuse she faced at the hands of Martell Holt. Additionally, she’s calling out production for filming instances of abuse but seemingly shielding Martell by not airing them.
Melody joined Love & Marriage: Huntsville during the show’s first season in 2019. At the time, she was married to Martell, but the two ultimately divorced in 2020. Melody announced that she was leaving the series in 2025.
The Neighborhood Talk was able to capture Melody’s thoughts on social media. In the clip, she began, “What about the time that you punched me? What about that part?”
She then opened up about her address being released by Martell and mentioned a police report. “But what you didn’t do is show my report of that same day when you pulled that pow pow out on me and said that you would take me out, and you already thought about it and decided you would,” she added. “You ain’t show that side of the police report because I got it.”
Melody then said, “See, I’ve been quiet for a long time. My people have seen it.” This led her to call out the women on social media who continue to defend Martell, adding, “Why don’t ya’ll get him some help? You love him that much.”
She went back to the police report, saying, “You wanna show the report, or the video of you recording me, after you’ve done all this stupid sh** to me and now I’m on your a**.” Melody then mentioned that Martell “took her money that [he] wasn’t supposed to take.”
Melody went on, “What about the time when you punched me? What about that part, because I got receipts for that, too. I am not in any shape, form, or fashion covering [for you].”
Later in the Live, Melody discussed production filming aspects of the abuse she faced from Martell. According to her, “What about the time we were on vacation filming and you threw pillows at me, hit me in the face with them, but they cut that out. They didn’t air that. What about that? The footage is there. Why they didn’t air that?”
After this, Melody added, “Because they definitely aired me throwing the glass at your a**.” She then demonstrated the speed and force with which Martell allegedly threw the pillows. She did so by throwing rolls of paper towels. Melody also implied that this is part of the reason she’s not going back to the show.
She said, “I have no interest in financing my own abuse.” The former Love & Marriage: Huntsville star also showed a clip of Martell confronting her outside the courthouse after he pleaded guilty to harassing her. He could be seen and heard from an SUV saying, “It’s over with now.”
