Kim Kardashian and her family remain a popular topic in the world of reality television. Now, The Kardashians is set to return to Hulu for its seventh season. In the recently released trailer, Kim revealed that there was a threat to her life from someone very close to her. Additionally, she is suing Ray J over recent allegations he made about her family.

The Kardashians premiered on Hulu in 2022, following the family’s years of sharing their lives on E!. The new season is set to premiere on October 23.

The new trailer for The Kardashians promises laughs, drama, and guest appearances from Rob Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner. However, one of the most dramatic parts comes when Kim revealed that she was recently in danger. The reality star and actress said, “I got a call from investigators.”

She continued, “Someone extremely close to me put a hit out on my life.” Luckily, it seems this has been resolved as she later said, emotionally, “I’m happy it’s over.”

Elsewhere in the trailer, Kylie Jenner can be seen discussing another traumatic experience. She said, “I heard footsteps walking into my room.” From there, the trailer showed footage of police cars with their lights flashing. Kim is then heard in a voiceover saying, “I am terrified out of my mind.”

This season will also feature Kim traveling to France to testify in her robbery case. That’s not all, as there are also appearances from her All’s Fair co-stars. This includes Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, and Niecy Nash

In other Kim news, she and Kris Jenner are suing Ray J. PEOPLE confirmed that attorney Alex Spiro had filed the lawsuit on their behalf after he stated that he was aiding in a RICO investigation against their family.

The attorney told PEOPLE, “Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian have never brought a defamation claim before nor have they been distracted by noise – but this false and serious allegation left no choice.”

The lawsuit concerns two instances in which Ray J made these claims. The first is from the United States vs. Sean Combs documentary. In it, the singer and brother of Brandy Norwood said, “If you told me the Kardashians was being charged for racketeering, I might believe it.”

The other instance comes from a September livestream where he made mention of a federal racketeering investigation to what was described as “millions of social media followers.” The attorney called this the “most malicious defamatory conduct.”

In the legal documents, the attorney said that Ray J “has engaged in a sustained campaign of harassment and defamation” against the Kardashian and Jenner family “for more than two decades.”

The filing continued, “Unable to accept the end of his fleeting relationship with Ms. Kardashian over twenty years ago, Ray J has repeatedly sought to attach himself to Plaintiffs’ names and exploit their prominence for personal gain.”

Alex added, “Ray J’s public statements are blatantly false. No such federal investigation exists; no law enforcement agency has initiated any criminal proceedings or investigations related to racketeering charges against Ms. Kardashian or Ms. Jenner; and no credible evidence whatsoever supports these inflammatory allegations.”

He continued, “These statements were presented as factual assertions about ongoing federal criminal proceedings, not as speculation or opinion. Ray J’s publication of these serious criminal accusations without any attempt at verification or corroboration from legitimate law enforcement sources—who would have readily confirmed that no such investigation exists—constitutes reckless disregard for the truth under the actual malice standard.”

Finally, he said, “His reliance on his own unsubstantiated assertions, despite having no factual basis or credible source for these inflammatory allegations, demonstrates a fundamental disregard for truth and a willful intent to harm Plaintiffs’ reputations.”
