A source addressed the recent rumor that the ‘Legacy’ cast of The Real Housewives of New York City is returning to Bravo – amid fans’ hope to see them back on the screen.

After season 13, Bravo made the decision to replace the entire cast with younger, newer stars. At the time, fans were told the ‘legacy’ cast was getting their own show. This, of course, never happened. Meanwhile, the rebooted cast hasn’t received the best ratings, and viewers have continually called for the originals to return.

In recent weeks, several of the ‘OG’ stars have been spotted together in various places, leading many to believe that the legacy show is perhaps back on the table.

Speaking to Radar Online, a source addressed the rumors.

“There’s a lot of hope and speculation from fans, but from what the OG cast members are hearing, Bravo is filming with some of the new women and adding even more new women to the mix,” said the insider, who added that this might not be a great move, given that the audience “doesn’t like to keep meeting new people.”

“It gives them fatigue,” said the insider, who suggested that fans want to keep following the castmates they’ve watched for years. But Bravo, it seems, isn’t pursuing this.

“It would be amazing for them to keep some of the new women and put some of the original girls back in the mix with them,” shared the source. As for the speculation about a legacy spinoff, the insider said, “The women haven’t heard anything.”

Years ago, reports surfaced that the legacy show was blocked because Jill Zarin‘s salary demands were too high.

Jill addressed the situation in a 2023 interview: “I got a phone call from one of the housewives yesterday telling me that people are saying that I shouldn’t be running around saying that and that they should be getting more than me because they’ve been on the show longer … And I’m like, ‘You know what? That’s okay. You can think that – not true. You wouldn’t be on it if I wasn’t on the show.'”

“I think this was my time, and they should pay us all equally,” she went on. “And if they don’t want to, that’s perfectly fine – just don’t include me.”
