Lala Kent revealed she “reach[ed] out” to Katie Maloney amid their feud, and she apologized for “the way things went down” on Vanderpump Rules, as Katie’s ex-husband, Tom Schwartz, reacted.

In the last season of the show, Lala accused Katie of hiding certain parts of her relationship with Ariana Madix. At the time, Lala insinuated that Katie was frustrated with Ariana concerning their business partnership for the sandwich shop, Something About Her. But on camera, Katie spoke as if she and Ariana were perfectly fine.

On her new podcast, Untraditionally Lala, Lala revealed her text to Katie.

“After many months or a year plus of sitting on it … I did reach out [to Katie],” said Lala. “And I almost feel bad even talking about this because I don’t want her to think that … there was a reason behind why I sent it. But just with the changes that I wanted to make in my life and take ownership, I felt it was necessary that she knew that I was sorry for the way things went down.”

“I didn’t expect a text back. And what I’ve been working on with my sponsor … When we’re making amends with anybody, you know, you have to be okay if they’re not receptive,” she went on. “Because if you’re going in looking for that, then you haven’t fully taken accountability for your part, and you’re looking for something selfishly to make you feel like your actions were okay. So you have to say, ‘If I get no response or it’s not accepted, can I move on still and feel okay?’ And I got to that point.”

Katie’s ex-husband Tom, who guest-starred on the podcast, added, “That’s good … Before you are about to send high-stakes emotional texts like that, I think that’s a healthy way to do it. If they don’t respond, [you’re] at peace with that. If you’re going to be hurt that they don’t respond, you shouldn’t send it.”

“Well, I don’t think so [either],” Lala agreed. “Because then what’s the point?”

“You do it for yourself,” said Tom. “It’s healing, therapeutic.”
